With unmistakable energy and a rare talent for transforming any event into an unforgettable experience, Rob Ferre has earned his place among the most respected MCs, speakers, and DJs on the international scene. Based in Salt Lake City yet perpetually travelling the globe, he brings a distinctive blend of professionalism, charisma, and showmanship to every stage he steps onto. Fresh from his recent trip to Italy for the fourth edition of the Puglia InWedding Tourism Fam Trip, Rob shares with us new perspectives on his craft, destination events, and the magic he discovered in Puglia.

Rob, you’ve built an international reputation as an MC, speaker, and DJ. Looking back, what key moments shaped your career and helped you become a sought-after entertainer worldwide?

My career began in Orlando, Florida, working for Disney, Universal Studios, and Nickelodeon—an incredible training ground that shaped me as a host, MC, and DJ. After moving to Utah and launching my own company in 2007, everything shifted when I spoke at a luxury conference in Lake Como. That single event opened the door to invitations from DWP Congress, Exotic Wedding Planners Conference, Planners Extraordinaire, and WeddingWire World. Joining the National Speakers Association in 2015 also expanded my opportunities and network. Ultimately, my success comes from connection, service, and showing up fully at every event, no matter the size or audience.

Your ability to energise and connect with audiences is often described as your signature. How do you prepare differently when hosting a corporate event, a wedding, or a large-scale conference?

My preparation always begins with curiosity, understanding who will be in the room, their culture, expectations, and energy. I attend receptions, meet people beforehand, and build rapport. Whether it’s a wedding, conference, or corporate event, my goal is always the same: to elevate the room without overwhelming it. I often incorporate gamification and interactive moments to create connection, making guests feel part of the story rather than spectators.

You recently travelled to Puglia for the fourth edition of the Puglia InWedding Tourism Fam Trip. What stood out to you most about this experience, both professionally and personally?

The hospitality. I felt less like a tourist and more like a guest. From orecchiette pasta to regional wines, everything felt beautifully authentic. The venues were stunning, each with its own identity, and the warmth of the people made the entire experience unforgettable.

Puglia is becoming an increasingly popular destination for international weddings. Based on what you observed during your visit, what unique elements make it so appealing for couples and event professionals?

Puglia offers authenticity, beauty, and calm, without the heavy tourism of Italy’s major cities. Couples can immerse themselves in local culture, breathtaking landscapes, and distinctive regional cuisine. The venues feel like sanctuaries: intimate, elegant spaces that create wedding experiences that are unmistakably Pugliese.

As someone who constantly evolves with the event industry’s trends, how do experiences like the Puglia fam trip influence your creative approach and the value you bring to clients worldwide?

The curated group of global planners and professionals made the trip truly special. We connected deeply as people and celebrated together for four days. DJing the gala was emotional because of the camaraderie we built. Experiences like this strengthen my commitment to creating joy, belonging, and connection, values I aim to bring to every client, no matter where in the world their event takes place.

You’ve performed as a DJ for audiences across the globe. How has your style evolved over the years, and what influences have shaped your sound?

International audiences, from London to Tokyo to Dubai, have shaped my sound and approach. I’ve learned which songs are universally beloved and which unexpected tracks create surprise and excitement. Quick mixing, blending genres, and staying current with global trends define my style today. Once I earn an audience’s trust, I have the freedom to be creative and fully present in the moment.

Many DJs talk about the “art of reading the room.” What’s your approach to understanding an audience and crafting the perfect musical journey in real time?

Preparation is essential. I build crates and playlists, so I’m ready for anything. Once the event begins, I watch the room closely: who’s dancing, who’s sitting, when the energy rises or dips. Requests are chosen carefully to support the journey rather than interrupt it. What truly sets me apart is that I don’t stay behind the decks. I love music, and I love to dance, so when the moment is right, I join guests on the dance floor. Sometimes all a crowd needs is a familiar face to open up. That balance, knowing when to step in and when to step back, creates a deeper connection and elevates the entire experience. And yes, I always have a “one more song” ready.

Looking back at your career, from your early days behind the decks to headlining international events, what moment or event felt like a true turning point for you as a DJ?

There have been many. At Universal Studios’ CityWalk, I learned how to transform massive crowds of strangers into a unified, joyful audience. Winning Best of State in Utah validated the work I put into building my business. DJing Star Wars Celebration in London and Tokyo created global memories I’ll never forget. Serving as the halftime game show host for the Utah Jazz in the NBA was a major milestone, as I performed for thousands, sharpening my stagecraft and strengthening my confidence. Another defining highlight was my first international luxury wedding at a château in France, a four-day immersive celebration. I served as both MC and DJ, guiding guests through casino night, the wedding celebration, and even walking them down a red carpet leading to the château. I danced with them, celebrated with them, and became a true host of the entire experience. If I could relive any event, it would be celebrations like that, multi-day, immersive, joy-filled experiences. Through all of these turning points, what grounds me most is always the people: the connections, the shared joy, and the unforgettable moments created on every dance floor.

Rob Ferre continues to redefine what it means to entertain, inspire, and connect across cultures and industries.
