I had the privilege of meeting Aline D’Ambricourt and her daughter Camille Louise Merré for the first time in Geneva and from that moment, I was deeply struck by the incredible dynamism and positive energy of this extraordinary duo behind the Maison Camille Louise Jewellery (CLJ).

Aline, the Maison’s co-Founder and a GIA-certified gemologist, is a woman of boundless talents. Her story is incredibly inspiring. Aline is not only a celebrated harpsichordist with numerous awards and a career spanning three decades, but she has also performed for the royal families of Belgium and Denmark. However, her talents extend far beyond music. Aline’s unwavering passion for sustainability, heritage and craftsmanship preservation is at the heart of Camille Louise Jewellery.
Camille Merré, Aline’s daughter, is a GIA-certified jeweler, artist and designer whose creative spirit shines in everything she touches. With a design background from Central St Martin’s London, she serves as CEO & Creative Innovation Director at CLJ, bringing over a decade of experience in luxury gemstones, jewelry and watches. Camille believes jewelry can drive impactful change, integrating technology for sustainability.
Previously, Camille was International Innovation Manager at Cartier, leading projects in Web3 and Blockchain with a sustainability focus. She has spoken at global forums such as the World Economic Forum in Davos and holds a MA in Management & Marketing from Regent’s University London, recognized as an “Impact-Maker” at the Clinton Foundation. When I met Aline and Camille, I felt an immediate connection, deeply appreciating their commitment to transforming their industry. They are not just creating beautiful pieces; they are at the forefront of establishing a circular economy, steadily reducing the carbon footprint gem by gem. Their dedication to inclusivity, empowering women and minorities and adhering to sustainable practices are a source of inspiration for all the industry.
In Aline and Camille, I see not just two extraordinarily talented women, but a powerful force for good, shaping the future of the jewelry industry with integrity, innovation and a commitment for craftsmanship. Their example demonstrates what is possible when passion meets purpose, and I am honored to support them on this incredible path. Each of their pieces is meaningful and conveys a story drawn from nature, art, history or personal experiences. The emphasis on storytelling and the high quality of their high-end creations make them distinctive and unique, attracting a sophisticated and discerning clientele. It comes as no surprise that Camille Louise Jewellery‘s pieces were selected for the renowned Netflix series Emily in Paris, Season 4. In this season, characters such as Emily Cooper, portrayed by Lily Collins, adorn themselves with the exquisite designs of Camille Louise Jewellery. Their presence in the series not only highlights the beauty and craftsmanship of the jewelry but also underscores its appeal in the world of high fashion and entertainment.

Their inaugural novel “One of a Kind” Collection, unveils two high jewellery rings “Celestial Dawn Sun Ring” & “Moonlight Portal Ring” set with Natural Coloured Diamond by Antwerp Cut. Both rings complement each other like a natural satellite and a planet one gracefully orbiting the other, reflecting its light in harmony. Together, they form a unified expression of cosmic energy, where the sun and moon align in a stunning connection. This evokes the enchantment of Charles Perrault’s famous fairy tale “Peau d’Âne” (1697), with ‘The dress the color of the sun’ a golden gown showcasing an infinity design, and The dress the color of the moon’ a silver gown adorned with reflective mirrors. These are the most precious and luminous garments, mirrors that capture and reflect light, creating a mesmerizing radiance.

The Maison offers, two distinct collections: “One in a Trillion” and “Chromatic”, alongside the one-of-a-kind collection. The “Trillion” cut pays homage to the DNA signature, inspired by the “Arianna 1” rocket shape, which reflects Aline’s father’s career as an aerospace engineer. The mission is to enhance the play of light through a prism, creating a mesmerizing rainbow effect that defines their vision of beauty. This technique is exemplified in CLJ’s pieces, where the trillion cut creates a spectrum of rainbow hues, embodying the essence of the Maison. Let’s explore, therefore their novel and current jewelry pieces, handcrafted by skilled artisans, ensuring that each piece meets the highest standards of quality.

I had the pleasure to interview this amazing duo: How did the idea for Camille Louise Jewellery originate, and what inspired both of you to start this venture together? Can you share some insights into how being a mother-daughter team influences the dynamic and decision-making within your company?
“CLJ was created from our shared passion for craftsmanship and gemstones, inspired by family journeys across Asia, particularly Sri Lanka. An internship at the gem-cutting center in Ratnapura, the ‘City of Gems,’ further sparked our vision, leading to the inception of CLJ in 2020. As a mother-daughter duo, our collaboration blends Aline’s industry expertise with Camille’s innovative design approach, creating a dynamic synergy. Together, we are committed to crafting timeless yet modern jewelry through responsible practices. Our mission is to redefine the jewelry experience by merging traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge digital innovation, making it accessible through a sustainable ‘phygital’ approach that connects with the Next-Gen both online and offline.”
