“Ferrari Trento represents Italian excellence in the wine sector: a successful company history born from passion, tradition, and a constant pursuit of quality. Values that perfectly align with the theme of this universal exposition, ‘Designing Future Society for Our Lives,’ and with the message that the Italian Pavilion wants to convey: Art Regenerates Life,'” declared the commissioner General, Amb. Mario Vattani. “Wine and good food are a central part of the ‘Italian way of life’: they are a fundamental driver for developing our Country System. The positive numbers recorded by Italian wine exports to Japan confirm our commitment to bringing the traditions and excellence of ‘Made In Italy’ to this global stage to stimulate the internationalization of Italian companies.”
“Participating in EXPO 2025 Osaka and once again standing alongside the Italian Pavilion, as we did at Expo 2015 Milan, is a source of great pride for us and confirms our role as the quintessential Italian toast. Japan is a country I love very much and an important market for Ferrari Trento; therefore, I am very pleased with this further opportunity to strengthen the bond that unites us. We want to celebrate that know-how in line with the Italian Pavilion theme. That ability to weave together art and science is part of both cultures,” declared Matteo Lunelli, President and CEO of Ferrari Trento.

The bond between Ferrari Trento and Japan is historically powerful, so much so that the winery has already dedicated a special Trentodoc to this country, the Ferrari Hommage, created in 2019 to celebrate the beginning of the Reiwa imperial era. The label, embellished with symbols that evoke Japanese art and aesthetics, including refined traditional fans, expresses the encounter between Italian elegance and the delicacy of oriental design. Ferrari Hommage, which was chosen in April 2019 to welcome the Japanese Prime Minister to Rome, will be offered to guests of the Italian Pavilion on selected occasions. An exclusive furoshiki, the traditional Japanese fabric used to wrap objects and gifts, has been created to complete this cultural synergy. The Ferrari Trento furoshiki for Expo 2025 Osaka was created in collaboration with Progetto Quid, an innovative Italian social enterprise that gives new life to fabrics and people. It reuses high-fashion fabrics with a view to a circular economy, just as the Japanese tradition of furoshiki used fabric scraps. It also offers employment and training opportunities to vulnerable people who find dignity and autonomy through work.

Ferrari Trento sparkling wines will be the protagonists of the most significant institutional moments of the Italian Pavilion. The first toast at the opening ceremony is scheduled for April 13, and immediately after, on April 15, the Made in Italy Day will be celebrated. Among the events planned within the Italian Pavilion is the JET Cup, the most prestigious sommelier competition dedicated to Italian wines in Japan, now in its seventeenth edition. Ferrari Trento has been a partner since its debut.

The fact that Takuma Yamada, sommelier at the Palace Hotel in Tokyo and winner of the Jet Cup 2024, was selected as one of the Ambassadors of the Italian Pavilion for his contribution to promoting Italian wine culture in Japan confirms the importance of this competition.
