Rolex has unveiled two exquisite versions of the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona. These models feature a stunning contrast of white and black natural mother-of-pearl dials, accentuated by bezels adorned with brilliant-cut diamonds. These refined masterpieces showcase the perfect balance of precision and preciousness, reflecting Rolex’s unmatched mastery. A testament to the brand’s legacy, these models embody vivacity and innovation.

The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona is one of the most coveted timepieces in the world, marking its 60th anniversary last year with a special edition Rolex Daytona Le Mans, which has recently been discontinued. Designed to meet the needs of professional racing drivers, this watch has a rich history intertwined with the world of motorsport. The name “Daytona” honours the iconic Florida beach, renowned for being the site where America’s first speed records were established. Additionally, it shares its moniker with the famed Ferrari model that triumphed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Rolex Daytona’s universal acclaim was further cemented by Hollywood icon and racing champion Paul Newman. His own Daytona brought him luck on the track and fetched a staggering $17.8 million at auction in 2017.

Carrying this rich legacy within themselves, this year’s iterations of the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona are presented in a brand-new design, symbolising the potential for rediscovery in each one of us. The highlight of the reinvented models is the mother-of-pearl dials, the material that is, by nature, mysterious and alluring. The Rolex craftsmen found a unique combination of white and black mother-of-pearl, playing on the contrasting colours, the depth of the material and its light-reflective texture.

The first watch has the white mother-of-pearl dial with black counters; the other model reverses this stunning combination. Each watch has a special bracelet to match the colour of the dials. The former timepiece, with black counters, has the Oysterflex bracelet, developed by Rolex and patented. It is made up of two flexible, curved metal blades – one for each of the sections – and is over-moulded with high-performance black elastomer. The watch with white counters is furnished with the iconic Oyster bracelet, a three-piece link metal bracelet known for its robustness. It was developed in the 1930s and will be familiar to lovers of the Oyster Perpetual collection.

Both watches are crafted from 18ct white gold, providing both durability and a luxurious sheen. The bezel is adorned with 36 brilliant-cut diamonds, replacing the traditional tachymetric scale. The diamonds’ multiple facets create a dazzling sparkle, enhancing the watch’s sophisticated charm. The Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona is a precious jewel and a powerful and technologically advanced timepiece driven by calibre 4131. Released last year, this chronograph movement developed entirely by Rolex equips the Cosmograph Daytona exclusively. This self-winding mechanism delivers outstanding precision, power reserve, convenience, and reliable performance.

Combining radiant beauty and outstanding performance, the 2024 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona will be cherished by those who appreciate the finest in horological craftsmanship. Ideal for both collectors and luxury watch enthusiasts, these timepieces stand as part of prestigious history, celebrating velocity, opulence, and timeless allure.
