This latest project represents an exciting expansion of Tankoa’s range and highlights the shipyard’s dedication to fostering innovative partnerships with renowned designers. With profound admiration for Mario Pedol and the esteemed team at Nauta Design, Tankoa embarks on this journey with enthusiasm and shared vision.
“This project signifies a significant step in our growth and consolidation phase, solidifying Tankoa’s position as a leader in luxury megayacht construction,” remarks Vincenzo Poerio, CEO of Tankoa Yachts. “By integrating cutting-edge technology with meticulous attention to detail, the 70mt Milano embodies our pursuit of excellence. Collaborating with Nauta Design, with whom we share a history of mutual respect and friendship spanning three decades, is truly rewarding.”
Timeless Design – Named after the city of Milan, the Milano project draws inspiration from its namesake, symbolizing elegance, aesthetic refinement, and intelligent design. Milan, as the hometown of Nauta Design, embodies these qualities, making it a fitting source of inspiration—a place where creative concepts materialize into tangible achievements. The 70mt Milano boasts impressive dimensions: It measures 70 meters in length overall, with a beam of 11.80 meters and a draft of 3.50 meters. Its exterior design features clean lines that exude purity, balance, modernity, and sophistication, reflecting a timeless aesthetic inherent to Tankoa and Nauta’s design DNA. Mario Pedol, Co-founder of Nauta Design, describes the project’s design ethos: “The elongated horizontal lines establish a seamless connection with the sea’s surface and the horizon, fostering an intimate bond with the natural environment. It represents a reimagining of clean forms and harmonious volumes, resulting in a visual impression of lightness, purity, and tranquillity.” Nauta Design is thrilled to collaborate with Tankoa, a shipyard renowned for professionalism and commitment to excellence, combined with a profound appreciation for elegance, qualities that have propelled it into a prominent position in the world of superyachts.
Layout and Key Features – At the heart of the Milano project lies the magnificent stern area, designed to captivate from the outset. It features a superb beach club comprising a lounge with a convertible gym, a relaxation area with a sauna and massage room, and folding hull platforms that extend at sea level. An exquisite swimming pool graces the exterior, accompanied by an expansive sun lounging area customizable to the owner’s preferences. Lowering the side bulwark platforms expands the beach club into a spectacular private sea lounge, offering additional luxury and relaxation. The single-tier diesel-electric engine room on the under-lower deck is a standout feature, facilitating direct passage from guest accommodations to the beach club. The lower deck includes four guest suites, a dedicated garage for water toys and dive gear, crew facilities, a gym, and twelve crew cabins. The main deck features an open-air lounge connected to the beach area, a main saloon, a dining area, two spacious VIP staterooms with fold-out terraces, a galley, and a forward garage accommodating two tenders. The upper deck is dedicated entirely to the owner’s indulgence. It boasts a vast master stateroom with forward views, access to a private pool, and a helipad. This luxurious suite includes a walk-in closet, his and Hers bathrooms, and a study. The deck also features a sky lounge and outdoor dining area. The bridge deck houses the wheelhouse, captain’s cabin, and a cinema room for guests’ entertainment. The sundeck offers an al fresco lounge area with a bar, sunbeds, and panoramic views.
New Technology – In alignment with Tankoa’s commitment to sustainable technologies, the Milano project incorporates a diesel-electric propulsion system. This innovative setup includes four variable-speed generators supplying electrical energy to two e-motors, enabling a top speed of 16.5 knots and powering the yacht’s hotel services. Additionally, the yacht will be equipped with fuel cells providing up to 200kW of power, integrating methanol fuel cells for sustainability, comfort, and safety. Tankoa remains open to future advancements in hydrogen storage technologies, ensuring secure and efficient operation.
The 70mt Milano represents a harmonious blend of exquisite design, innovative technology, and unparalleled luxury, reaffirming Tankoa Yachts’ position as a leader in luxury mega yachts. With its debut, Milano sets a new standard for elegance and sophistication on the seas, promising an unforgettable experience for discerning yacht enthusiasts worldwide.
